On this day 23 years ago, news of Princess
Diana's death in a car crash in Paris sparked a global outpouring of
grief. The Princess
of Wales, 36, her boyfriend Dodi Fayed and driver Henri Paul died after the
Mercedes they were travelling in struck a concrete pillar in the Pont de l'Alma
tunnel in Paris around 12:30am on 31 August 1997. Read here.
